Well, I lived in the rain-forests Costa Rica in Middle America, bordering both the Caribbean Sea and the North Pacific Ocean, between Nicaragua and Panama. Puerto Viejo de Talamanca to be exact. My real name is Mr. Cappuchin Monkey. There seems to be allot of Capuchin Monkeys so I added an extra P to distinguish myself. Also my handle/nickname/etc. MCMonkeyDo I had to use a “ZERO” in some cases to take place of the “o” in DO. Now that I have bored you already lets begin.
Capuchin comes from the Capuchin monk, whose cowl resembles my black capped head-coloring. I am about a 45 cm long, with a slender prehensile tail a bit longer than that. On a good day my weight ranges from about 1.5 to 4.5 kg, with “us” males normally outweighing females. My family history comes from a variety of forest habitats, especially rain forests. I am omnivorous – though my diet is primarily fruit, but sometimes will also feed on leaves, seeds, insects, birds’ eggs, and sometimes even small birds. I try not to make a habit of that. Being diurnal and arboreal, I usually hang out with multimale-multifemale
groups. Females often outnumber males. There is a well-defined dominance hierarchy within both groups, but the exact dynamics varies with who I keep company with. My homies size varies from 10-30 individuals. Basically I get along with various other monkeys’. I am multi lingual but communicate by various vocalizations, gestures, and facial expressions, as well as scent marking. I bet you can’t do that. Going to the gym and keeping myself along with my homies well groomed is common throughout the group. Doesn’t mean we are gay, (not that there is anything wrong with that). It really blows because like most the females make ALL the decisions especially when it comes to “getting busy” if you know what I mean. I graduated valedictorian from Puerto Viejo de Talamanca/Primate University aka P.U. and have been called the most intelligent of the New World Monkeys. I have been known to be a bit of an exhibitionist and will exploit anything and all in my environment. I am masterful at it. I am easily bored and some of my family has died in captivity when abused or not looked after. My kind does not do ALONE well, I have to be in a group setting at all times. Bad habits include exploring everything within reach, often taking things apart in the process. In order to keep my sense of direction and mark territory I sometimes will leave a scent. When a hot mama wants my attention she usually gets it by getting my attention being the dominant male and all. Well I like to think I am anyway. She be like following me and making loud calls. When I am not looking after my pet humans Thom and David they being disabled and all. It’s a good life no complaints.
